shores, but already he’s launched a bi-costal expansion. The facials and product line, Pietro Simone Skincare, first launched at New York‘s Shibui Spa at The Greenwich Hotel last fall, but skincare lovers on the West Coast no longer have to book a cross-country flight just to experience them, since the skincare line and Simone’s facials recently launched at Napa’s famous Meadowood resort.
<p class="body-text”>The partnership seems like a match made in complexion heaven, given Simone’s long list of eye-catching clients across the pond and in NYC—fashion designer Jason Wu took time out of his Fashion Week schedule last year to get a skin tune-up with Simone—and Meadowood‘s storied reputation for high luxury—their all-suite spa has been a Forbes five-star pick for three years running.
<p class="body-text”>“I have been in the spa industry for 13 years and my team and I were so impressed with the innovation, efficacy and luxury of Pietro Simone Skincare we knew it was the perfect fit for The Meadowood Spa,” said Michael Conte, Director of Spa and Wellness for Meadowood.
<p class="body-text”>In addition to the peptide-rich Pietro Simone Skincare line, the collaboration has added three new facial offerings to Meadowood Spa’s menu utilizing the products as well as two of Simone’s signature techniques—exfoliation with organic cotton thread and deep tissue facial massage.
<p class="body-text”>When I was invited by the brand to try out some of the new treatments at Meadowood, I was able to experience both techniques at the hand of Simone himself. The cotton thread exfoliation, in which a strand of organic cotton is gently pulled across the surface of the skin, is designed to simultaneously lift away dead skin cells, similar to dermaplaning, and also encourage lymphatic drainage with gentle, targeted strokes of pressure, as you might find with gua sha facial massage.
Of course, that soft pressure gets taken up a notch with Simone’s dry deep tissue technique that helps release tension in oft-used facial muscles and lends the skin a smoothed, lifted appearance. The results? Combined with Simone’s chemical exfoliation and hydration processes, my skin was left smooth and glowing and my jaw noticeably less tense.
<p class="body-text”>The new facials join Meadowood Spa’s full menu of curated treatments, including their other signature facials, body scrubs, wraps, and massages, each performed in private suites complete with their own restrooms, steam showers, and amenities, and a full menu of spa cuisine (and coming from a resort with a 3 Michelin star restaurant, it’s a far cry for your standard spa fare.)
