The book, published by Assouline, features stunning portraits and inspiring interviews of 70 mothers and their children. “The beauty not only lies in the images themselves, but in what they represent: the unbreakable bond between a mother and a child,” states Carolina Herrera in the book’s foreword. “For me, shooting this book, it was all heart-focused. It was my first body of work in which I wanted to connect on a hard level with others, I wanted to create images that were inspiring and spoke to some greater human experience, like motherhood,” said Frank.
Upon arrival, guests sipped cocktails and viewed excerpts from the tome while treating themselves to custom Clé de Peau Beauté lip glosses. The group was then seated for an intimate dinner. Toasts given by family and friends conveyed the admiration so many have for the photographer and her work.
The evening drew a vibrant crowd: Annelise Peterson Winter, Sylvana Ward Durrett, and Indré Rockefeller, as well as Yaya DaCosta and Jane Keltner de Valle.
