Health and wellness center roadwork underway on Bethany Road

DeKALB – Work is underway on Bethany Road in anticipation of the opening of the Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Health and Wellness Center this fall.

Part of this work, scheduled to last three months and cause periodic lane closures, will be the installation of a four-way traffic signal at the intersection of Bethany Road and Kishwaukee Hospital’s private northwest loop near the entrance to the wellness center.

What makes the facility unique is its medical management aspect, which allows doctors to refer patients to the facility for different programs and then get feedback on how they are doing.

The 111,000-square-foot wellness center on 626 East Bethany Road in DeKalb will include modern cardio and strength equipment, an indoor walking track, a gymnasium, full-service locker rooms with spas, saunas and steam rooms, a 25-yard lap pool, a warm water therapy pool, and a kids zone for children 6 months to 11 years old.

Memberships for the center are now available at a sales office at the Windmill Plaza on 2731 Sycamore Road, next to Kishwaukee Hospital. Hours will be Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.
