WAUSAU, Wis., (WSAW)– A shelter in Marshfield is looking to raise funds for their mission to help women in crisis. It’s called The Hannah Center and they will be holding a fundraiser to help residents.
“Our residents participate in our LifeSkills classes, on topics such as positive parenting, child/infant development, budgeting, resume creation, communication skills, cooking, cleaning, positive coping skills and much more, “said Ugoretz
Besides a home for women in crisis, The Hannah Center also has a Clearing House for community members in need. The Clearing House has new and gently used baby items and clothing from size newborn – 6T. Any community member in need can call The Hannah Center and request items from our Clearing House at no cost to them. The children who call The Hannah Center home are also clothed, fed and diapered from our Clearing House, allowing their mom’s to save more money for successful independence in their future.
The Shopping spree will take place on Monday September 18th at 7 p.m. at Festival Foods in Marshfield. Organizers will sell raffle tickets for $10 a piece and then the buyer is entered into a drawing for the chance to win the shopping spree.
One winner will be drawn on Sunday September 17th at 5pm. Money raised will go to repairing basement damage due to flooding.
