Purse thief driving Nissan Altima stole from women in Oakville, Burlington: police

Halton Regional Police are looking for a Nissan Altima that they say has been involved in five purse thefts in Burlington and Oakville

Between Feb. 24 and March 17, five purse thefts targeting older women took place in grocery stores across the two regions.

Police are looking for a silver 2002-2006 Nissan Altima, which they believe to be the suspect’s vehicle. The car is missing the front passenger hubcap, has damage to the driver side door and driver side rear bumper, and has a dark non-factory tint.

To reduce your risk of being a victim of theft, only bring a driver’s license and a few financial cards while shopping, the police report says, adding that belongings should be left out of sight.

Anyone with information is to contact Det. Const. Derek Gray of the Burlington Criminal Investigations Bureau at 905-825-4747 ext. 2344.
