Four Seasons Hotel Downtown opened in September 2016 in the heart of Tribeca. The area definitely got back its past glory. Thanks to Silverstein Properties and Robert A.M Stern who promised to restore Downtown. Today the area ranks first again for business and visitors.
The hotel occupies 21 floors of 30 Park Place, the iconic 82-storey tower designed by Robert A.M. Stern. Sharing a city block with the Woolworth Building, Cass Gilbert’s iconic 1913 skyscraper, 30 Park Place’s tower rises out of a limestone base to a dramatic skyline.
View over the Oculus, The World Trade Center Tower, the hotel is an urban oasis. It is so remarkable. Four Seasons Downtown features 189 guest rooms including 28 suites, CUT – the first New York restaurant bar by celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck and an incredible spa. Studio designer Yabu Pushelberg has completed the home interior using dark wood in the public spaces and soft colors in the guest rooms. Walk into the hotel through the giant glass doors at 37 Barclay Street and you will immediately feel at home. It is hard not to love this place!
An entire floor is dedicated to fitness and well-being, with a seven-room Spa and a 75 foot -23 meters- indoor lap pool. Surrounded by floor to ceiling windows, you will swim among New York skyscrapers. A perfect spot to recharge and unwind. Last year, the spa launched the Resident Healers Program.
On the lookout for more than massages and beauty standard treatments, Four Seasons Downtown comes first. The hotel works with three leading women, all with their own niche offerings in health and wellness industry in New York. Deganit Nuur, creator of The Nuurvana Method -an acupuncturist, herbalist and clairvoyant, Rashia Bell, creator of The Cristalline – a crystal healer and mediation master – and Snow Shimazu, creator of Air Beautiful- a travel wellness expert, advanced body work educator and all around wellness guru. They offer unique and mindful experience.
When I stayed there it was Global Wellness day and the hotel organized a very successful morning where you could experience 90 minutes each of resident healers sessions, a yoga class, and afterwards a healthy breakfast and take your crystal chakra set and yoga mat home. A brillant program.
Lara Devgan MD
Beauty field is very interesting. Over 90% of plastic surgery treatments are made on women but 90 % of plastic surgeons are men. When I met superstar plastic surgeon Dr Lara Devgan in her busy Upper East Side office, I came out full of thoughts and new ideas. For Dr Devgan, it is very empowering and interesting to be a woman in this field today. It allows her to give her patients a little bit more in a different way with more collaborative efforts. It is not about being somebody else but about being the best version of yourself! She added that the society told us you were either smart or beautiful. You are either a woman with substance or a superficial plastic junkie. Today the idea you can be a woman with substance but also care about your appearance is something new in this era and it is wonderful for women. For women reading this, think about it.
Dr Lara Devgan is a board-certified, Yale-educated , Johns Hopkins Medical School-instructed, and Columbia New York Presbyterian Hospital-trained plastic reconstructive surgeon. One of her main focuses is facelift surgery. Half of her practice is surgery and the other half is non surgical procedures like botox and fillers. She says that the non surgical interventions are truly the future of beauty.
So what has changed over the last ten years? She told me. It is very different from where we were ten years ago, today technology in plastic surgery has an amazing time because we are able to make meaningful changes without any incisions, any scars and you can go right back to work, no one has to know.
Elegant and very refined Dr Devgan is truly passionate about her work. “when I look at someone’s face, what I like to do is to go from top to bottom. My work allows me to transfer confidence to men and women in a very subtle way”. She added “I think that the people who are the most capable of giving you a kind of beauty and aesthetic results are surgeons who truly understand the anatomy of the face”. Yes, beauty is truly power and emotion.

She also developed an incredible luxury skincare line called Dr. Devgan Scientific Beauty. She works with two FDA approved labs and two chemists between New York and Los Angeles. The nice thing about the products is that they use the best of in class ingredients to give people the kind of result they want from plastic surgery but in “at home”comfort. Try without hesitating Dr Devgan Scientific Beauty magnetic Kinetic Mask. Ingredients include volcanic charcoal, mineralized iron ore and bumble bee to name a few. A truly fantastic mask.

Thanks to her non-invasive techniques paired with her natural and organic skin care products, the treatments make your skin look natural, healthy and radiant. The elegant salon is located on 501 Fifth Avenue, on the 3rd floor, where the entire floor includes 13 treatment rooms and 4 RevitaLight Bed rooms. The design is very chic, beautiful and girly. A poured resin floor and 15 foot, floor-to-ceiling, arched windows overlooking New York Public Library and Bryant Park. A true New York postcard. Recommended by New York friends, I went for a Triple Crown Facial – Joanna’s signature facial – on an 8pm appointment on a Friday night. It was so relaxing to finish one of these New York intensive work days and because it is the city that never sleeps you can have your facial at your suitable time. Nothing to add.
