Woman found with serious injuries near shopping centre car park dies

A woman who was found with serious injuries near a a Black Country shopping centre car park has died.

The police and ambulance service were called to the street near the the multi-storey car park at Great Cornbow, in Halesowen, just after 5.45am on Thursday, after receiving reports of a woman with serious injuries.

Sadly, it was quickly confirmed nothing could be done to save the injured woman and she was pronounced dead at the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We were called to Great Cornbow to reports of a woman on the street with serious injuries.

“We sent one ambulance, a paramedic officer, a rapid response vehicle and a merit team doctor.

“Sadly it quickly became apparent that nothing could be done to save the woman and she was confirmed dead at the scene.”

Force Response WMP tweeted : “Extremely sad and difficult job to finish the night shift on. Officers called to halesowen #dudley reports of a female injured on the ground by a multi story carpark.

“Upon arriving with @OFFICIALWMAS it was clear nothing could be done to save the females life.”

The Cornbow centre and ASDA store have a multi-storey car park which provides direct access into the shopping centre.
